"Fort Raigad is much more than a mere
tourist spot. It is a sacred place of
pilgrimage, which has left an imprint of
the grand vision of Hindavi Swarajya as
cherished by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj."
Fort Raigad was the capital of the most
illustrious Maratha sovereign,
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is a
monument of his prophetic vision of
Hindavi Swarajya. It has been described
by European historians as 'The
Gibraltar of the East'. Various
landmarks have lent it the credo of 'Shivtirth'.
The sheer vertical rock face tearing
into the sky above appears defiant and
insurmountable.

The Ropeway traverses a diagonal
length of 760 mtrs and a steep
ascent of 420 mtrs, in 4 minutes
flat! Gone are the days of torturous
foots slogging of some 3 hours over
1450 steps. By the Ropeway, one
reaches the top of the Fort through
the whistling winds & clouds,
completely fresh. Lush green flora
criss-crossed with waterfalls and
steep peaks is a Dream Land of
immense beauty in a hiker's
paradise!!

Ropeway Package
Ropeway package consists of 'To & Fro
journey by the Ropeway', visit to a
Museum displaying artifacts,
weapons & photographs of those historic
times, followed by a Film Show "Shiv
Teerth Raigad" and a conducted
excursion with company employed
guides.
